The BEST Blackout Curtains!
My living room and kitchen face the West. I was getting a LOT of heat through the windows even with my mini blinds closed. I am a new home owner and need to conserve my A/C for the first year to find out what my electric bill is going to be, so I bought these and I have to say the heat is gone!! I am VERY pleased with them and that color is just beautiful! I bought the small white tension rods to hang them so when it's not so hot I can take them down and enjoy the cooler weather, with windows open and Sun shining in. You can not go wrong with this product, they are 100% awesome! And btw, I do conserve on my lights and try to keep my thermostat between 76-77 degrees and at this time of year (May), it's not the hottest part of the year here in S.E. Texas, so now with a 1,100 sq. ft. home, my electric bill that will be due June 2nd, is $64! I know it would be higher if I did not have these drapes! I'm happy!MIsty
I love them, just what I was looking for.
I wanted to change my room to Farmhouse decor but I live in Texas where it gets blazing hot. I actually really like these because in all honesty they don't block the sun but the keep the heat in the summer out and the cold in the winter out. I saw a few reviews stating they don't filter light completely however that's exactly what I was looking for. Worked out nicely for me and they are really beautiful. The have folding creases but when you hang them they come right out.Jenny
Excellent insulating and light diffusion.
These curtains block a great deal of light....The AMAZING thing was that I bought them 3 days before we had an EXTREME heat wave...2 weeks after moving from Northern California to Vancouver, Washington...was NOT expecting 118° weather! I hung these between louver shades and patio sliders and they probably helped drop the tempature in that part of house 20°. I am very happy and putting them in most windows in the house. This winter when the temp is below freezing I expect the same insulating quality to help drop our expected high heating bills.Bonnie
